Having qualified as an occupational therapist in 1987, Teresa has worked with patients with head injuries in various settings. She treated patients in the acute stages while working at St Thomas' Hospital, London. She stayed at St Thomas' for over 10 years, becoming Head of Occupational Therapy.

Later, she treated patients with head injuries discharged from hospital, and living at home, when she worked as a community OT for Bristol City Council, a job she did for 15 years. She now works in a small clinic in the centre of Bristol, seeing patients with various neurological conditions, including head injuries.

Teresa has published articles in therapeutic journals and taught the occupational therapy students at the University of the West of England, for several years.
