A New Chapter: Thank you, Heather Batey

    News

Today, we share bittersweet news: our brilliant founder and Clinical Services Director, Heather Batey, will be stepping down from her full-time role at Reach.

Heather is a who has been the driving force behind Reach for over three decades. Since qualifying as an occupational therapist in 1987, Heather has been highly sought after as a guest speaker at national and worldwide conferences, establishing herself and Reach as true leaders in the field.

Reflecting on her 34-year journey, Heather says:

“I wanted to thank everyone who has been on this incredible 34-year journey with me… so far!

Reach started as a concept and over the years I have worked with so many amazing clinicians and wonderful people, many of whom have become close friends and will definitely remain so. There have been ups and downs, but together we navigated the way forward and pulled together as a team.

I know I’m leaving Reach in a good place, in good hands and with an exciting future with not just neuro OT services but additional services to add to our strengths.

So many people to mention, but I must highlight our amazing clinical leads, wonderful Neuro OTs, and office/finance support who are brilliant.

I will always hold Reach close to my heart due to the amazing work we do and the outcomes we continually achieve.”

While Heather steps back from full-time responsibilities, she will still be involved one day a week and will be pursuing medicolegal work and research in Functional Neurological Disorder (FND), alongside spending valuable time with her family.

We are immensely grateful for Heather’s vision, expertise, and dedication, which have shaped Reach into the outstanding company it is today. Her legacy is embedded in our mission, and we look forward to her continued contribution in her part-time capacity as we build upon the strong foundation she created.

Please join us in wishing Heather the very best as she embarks on this exciting new phase!
